The other day, while back at home (after being in so many different places over the holidays) I took the opportunity to do a new video on the exact supplements I use and the one’s I used to use.
This is NOT a sales pitch for these supplements…it is just me chillin out, giving you honest feedback on what is in my supplements cupboard.
No rehearsals, no script, no planning (as you will see when I find supplements that I have to throw out because they were past their expiration date).
So get a protein drink, coffee or tea and sit back and watch as I dissect EVERY supplement I own

Dave
whey protein powder makes me sooo constipated.. HELP! does this happen to you? I heard alot of fiber and water? how much water we talkin/ how much and what kind of fiber? is their protein thats not super pricey thats not as bulky as whey? and no im not lactose intolerant. i been using isolate
Hey Sean, not sure why man… try another brand and see how you react… i know back in the days I couldn’t digest ProLab protein for some reason, and I was fine with any other brands…
Hi Dave,
What are your thoughts about liquid creatirne syrum that u take only on working out days before ur workout, is it good to use?
Thanks,
Hey George,
Never use liquid creatine, I stick to the good ol monohydrate form… also Power XD sometimes
Dave,
awesome video, man do u have alot of supplements. You must never get sick. Lots of laughs in this video, I love the parts where you take out pachekets of stuff you just never use. I too use blue star protein and prograde krill oil. Thats about it. Keep up the good work.
Hey Forhad, yeah I actually never realized I had so many… lots of useless stuff too ahah!
You’re doing the right choice by using bluestar and prograde, 2 great companies!
Dave,
You mentioned fasting in the video. How and when do you fast and what have your experiences been with fasting? I have toyed around with fasting in the past, but the idea of not eating for extended periods of time is tough for me to get over. I have only fasted for around 24 hours at a time when I have a few final pounds of fat that I want to get rid of.
Anyway, I would love to see an article and/or video on how you use fasting, who can benefit from fasting and what your experiences with fasting have been.
That was a cool video of you going through your supplements. I didn’t even notice that it was 28 minutes long!
@Sean Blakely Try SunWarrior protein. It’s vegan and the protien is made from Brown rice. It has a little fiber in it. I’ve had no constipation issues with it like with Whey or Casien.
Dave,
Love all of your videos/books!
Terry
Great tip Terry.
My buddy Dale makes a killer vegan protein too, available at http://www.dalerawfoods.com .I use it regularly (ran out before I shot this video but got more on the way, plus some of his awesome raw protein bars of course
)
Awesome Dave….I’d love to see what you woudl recommend for women…there’s a ton of great info, but most of that is a lot for my women (especially working moms) so would be neat to see your views on the bare bones of supplements…what are your top 5, for women, and how do women read the labels/amounts on these big protein powders (often made by men for men). Or perhaps I can do that for you….:)
Keep up the awesome work. You’re real!
karen
Hi Karen! It’s true that it can be confusing for some women. I always advise to stick to the basic (protein if needed, greens, fish oil and multi if needed too…). Sure there are lots more supplements that can be beneficial for women too. If you want to write guest blogs email me at: dave@themusclecook.com , cool?
Thanks Karen
Hi Dave,
Where did you get the colostrum?
Hey Charles, here: http://dev.surthrival.com/portfolios/colostrum/
Great candid video! I have a ton of supplements also, have tried many…..can’t always get ALL from food, so rely on supplements for extras. Love your site!
Not always but it’s always best to try to get as much as we need from food, if not supplements always helps
Thanks Dawn!
Those samples u got actually looks like good stuff, put them on ebay or send em to me
ahah too bad, they’re gone Rob… most of them were not good anymore.
