So last week you may recall that I was speaking highly about slow cookers and the MAJOR benefits to cooking with them for your healthy meal plans and just simply reducing your total time in the kitchen while not sparing on great taste!
Now for those of you who already have one here is a recipe for you below that was specifically created for the slow cooker. This one tastes great! Just get it started in the AM and get ready for a fine meal later on at night.

Alright, for those of you who have one, here is another one of the greatest healthy meal plans…for those of you who don’t have a slow cooker, get one then come back to the blog
Slow-Cooked Roast
Makes 8 Servings

Healthy Meal Plans
Ingredients
• 2 pounds Beef Roast (Top Round)
• 3 Tbsp Olive Oil
• 2 Onions, chopped
• 1 Carrot, chopped
• 1 Celery Stalk, chopped
• 2 Garlic Cloves, minced
• 1 can Plum Tomatoes (with juice)
• 1/2 cup Dry Red Wine
• 1 teaspoon Sage
• 1 teaspoon Rosemary
• 1 cup Low-Sodium Beef Broth
• Salt and Pepper
• Something else?

Directions
1. Place the roast in a Slow-Cooker.
2. In a big bowl, mix all the other ingredients.
2. Pour the mixture in the slow cooker
3. Cook the Roast for 4 hours or until cooked.
Turn the meat occasionally, test doneness with a fork.

I am assuming that if roast is being cooked for 4 hours, then crockpot setting is high. Right?

Yeah, 4 hours on high. I mention “or until cooked” too, meaning you can go at a lower temp for longer. Anyhow, it’s hard to overcook in a slow cooker
Thanks for sharing the recipe. In the photo, I see some red and white fingerling potatoes in the crockpot, but none listed in the ingredients?
No this is part of the “something else?”:) Basically you can add whatever you want with this… potatoes, veggies, anything really…
